Graduating senior Jed York, son of Denise and John York of Canfield, was elected to membership in the National History Honor Society of Phi Alpha Theta. The finance and history major is a 1999 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School.
OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY, Columbus
Kelsey A. Webb of Youngstown, a junior in the School of Journalism and Communication, was awarded the George J. Kienzle Memorial Scholarship for significant contributions to the school. She is among 48 students in the school to receive one of various awards. She is a 2000 graduate of Ursuline High School.
Allison Renee Webel of Canfield has been awarded a Phi Kappa Phi Internship Grant for 2003. The award from the national honor society will enable her to intern with the John Glenn Public Policy Fellowship.
Joshua Michael Harraman of Howland was linked to the 97th class of SPHINX, the senior honor society at the university. The integrated social studies major is the son of Michael and Marilyn Harraman.
MALONE COLLEGE, Canton
Beau Tiger of Poland was a member of the college's SIFE team that won the Rookie of the Year Award at the SIFE USA National Exposition in Missouri. The team created 24-minute multimedia summaries of educational outreach projects it had developed and implemented. The team also had been named Regional Champion and Rookie of the Year at a regional competition in Cleveland.
