State to sell surplus vehicles at auction



COLUMBUS -- The Ohio Department of Administrative Services will have a state surplus vehicle auction June 14. The auction is open to the public at 10 a.m. at 4200 Surface Road, here.
Bidders will be permitted to inspect the vehicles from Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vehicles may be started only from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.
Vehicles up for bid include: Ford Crown Victoria, Ford Taurus, Buick Century, Chevrolet Lumina, Jeep Cherokee, Ford, Chevrolet and GMC trucks, Ford, Chevrolet and GMC vans, and various tractors and trailers.
Cash, cashiers check, business and personal checks will be accepted, provided they are accompanied by an irrevocable bank line of credit to guarantee payment.
A minimum payment of 25 percent must be made the day of the auction with the balance due by 3 p.m. June 16. Deposits will be forfeited to the state in the event of late payment.
Surplus auctions permit the public to purchase quality goods from state agencies. The state raised nearly $1.8 million this fiscal year through the sale of property it no longer needs.
