DOCTORS
Medical degree
Jenni Elizabeth Farrow, daughter of Gloria and Robert Farrow of Timberbrooke Trail, Poland, has earned her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
Dr. Farrow, a 1995 graduate of Poland Seminary High School, attended Denison University in Granville, where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in psychology and chemistry.
She will do her residency in general psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and then pursue a two-year fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry.
Podiatry degree
Joseph J. Fonagy Jr. of Brookfield has earned the degree of podiatric medicine from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland.
Dr. Fonagy is the son of Dr. Joseph and Susan Fonagy of Brookfield. He earned a bachelor of science degree in biology from Youngstown State University.
He will begin a residency program with Forum Health, Youngstown.
LAW DEGREE
Graduates from Akron
Kate M. Hamer of Boardman earned her juris doctorate degree from the University of Akron School of Law, where she graduated with honors. She was involved with the school's Law Review program for the past two years.
She is a 1996 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and earned her bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Wheeling Jesuit University, Wheeling, W.Va., in 2000.
She is currently employed by Cincinnati Insurance of Akron. She is the daughter of Janet and Robert Hamer of Boardman.
Temple graduate
Joel M. Wertman of Poland earned his law degree from the James E. Beasley School of Law at Temple University, Philadelphia.
He interned at the Philadelphia law firm of Marshall, Dennehy, Warner, Coleman & amp; Goggin and will begin employment at the firm after taking the bar examination for Pennsylvania and New Jersey in July.
He was editor-in-chief of Temple Environmental Law and Technology Journal and was on the law school's trial advocacy team. He received an award given to graduates who demonstrated excellence in civil trial advocacy skills.
Wertman graduated from Poland Seminary High School in 1996 and earned his bachelor's degree in English from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, where he played basketball four years and was named Player of the Year for the 1999 Centennial Conference.
He is the son of John and Patricia Wertman of Poland.
