NILES -- A city man facing a charge of stalking a teenage boy is now accused of intimidating him.
Richard P. Marburger, 47, of Belle Terre Avenue was charged with intimidation of a witness.
Police say he got into a verbal confrontation Monday afternoon with the boy.
Marburger was scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning in municipal court, but the case was postponed to June 20.
Marburger remains free on bond.
The boy told police he was walking home from school around 2:40 p.m. Monday and saw Marburger mowing grass in a lot at Main and Federal streets.
According to reports, Marburger asked the boy if he was the one who had filed charges against him earlier and the boy replied yes.
"Well, I'm going to hurt you if it goes any further than what is going on now," Marburger said, according to the report.
The youth told police Marburger went on to say he was willing to take a lie detector test to prove he was telling the truth and the teenager was lying. The boy then ran home.
Marburger is already facing a felony charge of stalking after he reportedly followed the same boy to and from school in late April and tried to get him into his vehicle.
After three days, reports said, the boy informed his principal the same vehicle had been following him and that morning the man stopped and tried to talk him into getting into the truck.
The boy gave police the license plate number of the vehicle, and police used unmarked cars to follow the boy home that afternoon.
Reports say officers saw Marburger drive past the boy three times, stopping twice to talk to him.
