IN THE CUP | Area holes-in-one



David Jackson of Columbiana made his first hole-in-one on the No. 2 hole at Valley Golf Course in Columbiana. The 16-year-old, who plays for Columbiana High's golf team, used an 8-iron on the 140-yard hole. His witnesses were Jeff Jackson, Roy Jackson and Brian Gustafson.
Robert Cirwinski of Boardman aced the 136-yard No. 15 hole at Reserve Run Golf Course. Witnesses were Frank Weldele, Mike Tsaknis and Mike Pizzoferrato.
William Franklin of Warren aced the 120-yard No. 16 hole at Pine Lakes Golf Course. Franklin, 78, used a 6-iron. Witness was Bob Martin.
Chuck Ivan scored a hole-in-one at Mahoning Country Club. He aced the No. 10 hole using a 6-iron, his first of his career and it came in the Churchill Golf League. Witnesses were Tim Lynn, Carl LaRubbio and George Bova.
