Trumbull Hill blasting
GIRARD -- Blasting is expected to get into full swing Monday on Trumbull Hill as part of the state Route 711 connector construction project.
Jennifer Richmond, spokeswoman for the Ohio Department of Transportation's District 4 office in Ravenna, said explosives will be detonated from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for two weeks, weather permitting.
The blasting is being done to remove sandstone for the road that will connect Interstate 680 in Youngstown with Interstate 80 and state Route 11 in Girard.
Other rounds of blasting will be done in July and December.
