KSU Trumbull developsnew noncredit program
CHAMPION -- Kent State University Trumbull Campus has developed a new noncredit program for the community.
The young seniors program offers a series of courses and workshops each semester designed to meet the unique needs of the young senior citizens in the community.
The courses will have few students and will provide more individual attention to participants.
Many are half as expensive as similar noncredit courses. The discount applies to courses and workshops specifically designed for the young seniors program.
To qualify, individuals must be at least 50 and have been an Ohio resident for a least a year. Participants will be required to show photo identification with a birth date to register.
The program is sponsored by the Workforce Development and Continuing Studies Center through the Office of Workforce Diversity, which focuses on developing and offering courses, workshops and conferences to specific populations, including seniors, minorities, women and the disabled.

Planning panel considersan easement for Popeye's
SALEM -- The city planning commission will consider an easement that would allow a Popeye's Chicken & amp; Biscuits restaurant to be constructed near the Wal-Mart store on East State Street.
Before the restaurant can be built, an easement is needed to allow customers to use Wal-Mart's Cunningham Road entrance, Patrick Morrissey, city planning and zoning officer, said today.
The restaurant, which will be near the intersection of Cunningham Road and East State Street, won't have its own entrance.
There's no timetable established for when the restaurant will be built, Morrissey said.
The planning commission will consider the matter at 4:30 p.m. Monday. The panel meets in city hall chambers, 231 S. Broadway Ave.
