CAMPBELL -- Gospel Temple Baptist Church will honor Deacon Charles J. Reynolds for his many services to the church at 11 a.m. June 15. He will also be celebrating 62 years of marriage to his wife, Irene.
Awards announced
LIBERTY -- Helen Mealy and Russ Clifton were honored as Liberty Presbyterian Church's 2003 Woman and Man of the Year at the church's annual family dinner June 1. Mealy and Clifton both serve on the church's board of trustees. Mealy is vice president of the senior citizens group. Clifton mows the church lawn and maintains the outdoor sign.
Anniversary Mass
YOUNGSTOWN -- Bishop Thomas J. Tobin will celebrate a special Mass at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown at 1 p.m. Sunday to mark the wedding anniversaries of 174 couples being honored for a total of 8,157 years of wedded life. Each couple has been married for at least 25 years.
A reception will follow at St. Columba Hall, hosted by St. Patrick Parish, Leetonia.
James and Louise Nuth, parishioners of St. Christine Parish, Youngstown, are the longest-married of the couples, celebrating 68 years of marriage.
There are 57 couples married 51-64 years, 61 couples married 50 years, 28 couples married 40 years, and 27 couples married 25 years.
Appointments named
YOUNGSTOWN -- Three priests of the Diocese of Youngstown have received new assignments from Bishop Thomas J. Tobin effective July 1.
The Rev. Thomas Kraszewski has been named associate pastor at St. Paul Parish in North Canton. He is currently associate pastor at St. Patrick Parish in Kent.
The Rev. Joseph Rudjak has been named to his first pastorate at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Youngstown and also part-time chaplain at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Before ordination, he served the diocese as a deacon in a variety of ministries for more than 30 years. Father Rudjak's current assignment is as associate pastor of St. Paul Parish in North Canton.
The Rev. John Warner has been named pastor at Sts. Philip and James Parish in Canal Fulton. He serves as pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Youngstown.
Two newly ordained priests also recently received their first pastoral assignments from the bishop.
The Rev. G. David Weikart was named associate pastor at St. Christine Parish in Youngstown, effective July 1.
The Rev. Martin Celuch was named associate pastor at St. Nicholas Parish in Struthers, effective July 15.
Annual men's program
YOUNGSTOWN -- Mount Olive FBH Church, 124 W. Marion Ave., will have its second annual Men's Day program at 4 p.m. June 22. The theme is: "Men Working in the Service for the Lord."
Master's degrees given
YOUNGSTOWN -- Eleven people in the Diocese of Youngstown graduated from Loyola University, New Orleans, through the Loyola Institute for Ministry Extension program. Commencement was May 23.
Master's degrees in religious education were awarded to: Eileen Edwards, Immaculate Conception Parish, Ravenna; Carol Muldowney, parish director of religious education, St. Joan of Arc Parish, Streetsboro; Ruby Petersal, pastoral associate, St. Pius X Parish, Warren; and Kathleen Sweet, parish director of religious education, St. Mary Parish, Warren.
Master's degrees in pastoral studies were awarded to: Janet Crespi, St. James Parish, New Bedford, Pa.; Daniel Fejes, St. Joseph Parish, Mantua; Deacon Michael Kocjancic, St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Boardman; Amber Muesser, St. Paul Parish, North Canton; Linda O'Brien, pastoral associate, St. Charles Borromeo Parish; Deacon John Terranova, St. Nicholas Parish, Struthers. Loyola University also posthumously awarded a master's degree in pastoral studies to Deacon Al Jaskiewicz.
Revival scheduled
AUSTINTOWN -- The Salvation Army Westside Chapel is asking area pastors to take part in an outdoor revival at 3 p.m. June 15. Pastors will share a devotional, and there will be praise and worship. Free hot dogs and refreshments will be offered.
Marian Congress planned
WARREN -- As part of the 60th anniversary theme of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown -- a year dedicated to Mary, the Mother of God -- a Diocesan Marian Congress for Youth will be June 17 at Blessed Sacrament Parish. The event begins with Mass at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 5:15 p.m. Approximately 75 young people and 25 adults are expected to participate, representing 29 parishes and three Catholic high schools of the diocese.
Bishop Thomas J. Tobin will open the day with prayer and a talk about his love of Mary. The day will include a variety of sessions about Mary. Call (330) 744-8451.
Family movie night
HOWLAND -- Howland Community Church will have a free outdoor movie night featuring "Monsters, Inc." at 8:30 p.m. next Friday. People should bring lawn chairs or blankets. There will be popcorn and beverages. Call (330) 856-3628.

HUBBARD -- The Sacred Heart Padre Pio Prayer Group will meet at 3 p.m. June 22 in St. Patrick Church.
