CLASS B LEAGUE Rondinelli remains undefeated



Chris Harris struck out eight batters in a shutout of Lazart.
STRUTHERS -- Rondinelli Tuxedo remained the only undefeated team in the Class B League, defeating Lazart 10-0 at Cene Park Thursday.
Rondinelli (6-0) used 10 walks, three hit batsmen, and the shutout pitching of Chris Harris. Harris did not walk a batter and had eight strikeouts. Greg Rohan had two hits, one a double, while Rick Banna had a two-run double in the first inning to drive in the game's first runs. Gabe McKee added a double for the winners. Dan Deluca had two hits for Lazart (3-3).
Line Drive 5, Astro Falcons 4
Dan Ford led off the top of the eighth inning with a double and Justin Byler followed with a RBI double for Line Drive (4-2). Losing pitcher John Hay did not allow a hit until the fifth inning on John Mang's RBI single. Mang scored on double by Greg Barton, who then scored on a single by Jon Zizzo. Astro Falcons tied the score in the bottom of the seventh on four straight walks. Dan Bertolini doubled in the fifth inning and scored on a sacrifice fly. Hay went 72/3 innings, allowing all five runs. He struck out six, while Leonard finished with three hits for Astros (5-1). Cole Budinsky went the first six innings for Line Drive, allowing three runs. He struck out five. Josh Suzany picked up the win despite walking five in two innings. Mang finished with two hits.
Livi Steel 12, Wharmby Sports 2
Livi Steel (5-1) sported Wharmby's a 2-0 lead and then scored the next 12 runs. The two runs allowed by Elliott Stevenson were unearned. He allowed three hits and struck out three. Mark Tanner had three hits to lead Livi, including a double, while Ryan Jones, Joe Pitzer, and Todd Kennedy had two hits each. Kennedy added three RBIs. Brian Smith, Pat Oman, and Rudy Yekarovic all had singles for Wharmby (2-4)
Becdir 7, Yo. Express 6
Trailing 6-1, Becdir (2-4) scored two runs in the sixth inning and four times in the bottom of the seventh. Mike Dubos pitched 31/3 innings of perfect relief for the win and also drove in the game-tying runs with a single, his second hit of the game. He advanced to second and scored the game winner on a single by Luke Srock. Shawn McDonald added two hits for Becdir. For Express (1-5), John Burnich, Elliott Ensley and Nick Pico had two hits each.
Roth Bros. 13, Yo. Propane 3
John Kellar had a solo home run, a double and four RBIs, as Roth Brothers scored seven times in the third inning. Youngstown Propane (0-6) managed just four singles off winning pitcher Jeff Claar, who struck out eight and walked two.
