Barbershop choruschanges rehearsal site
BOARDMAN -- The Penn-Ohio Singers are looking to the west for new members and rehearsal space. The men's barbershop chorus usually meets in Sharon, Pa., but, for the next three Tuesdays, will gather instead at St. Charles Catholic Church, U.S. Route 224 at Westview Drive. Rehearsals will be from 7:30 to 10 p.m.
Father's Day Car Showcoming to Hermitage
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Thousands of car enthusiasts are expected at the 21st annual Father's Day Car Show from noon to 4 next Sunday on East State Street.
The show, featuring antique, classic and collector vehicles, is held by the Shenango Valley Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America. Judging will be done in 34 classes.
The city shuts down a section of five-lane East State Street from Pa. Route 18 west to Kerrwood Drive, turning it into a huge show-ground. Registration for display vehicles is $10 and will run from 8 a.m. to noon the day of the show in the parking lot behind Lowe's at Route 18 and the Shenango Valley Freeway.
Cars offered for sale must be placed in the special sale corral in the show area.
Free summer film festival will resume next week
AUSTINTOWN -- A free film festival, which has become a summer tradition at Regal Cinemas Austintown Commons 10 on Mahoning Avenue, will resume at 10 a.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays beginning June 17. The G and PG-rated films will include "Jonah: A Veggie Tales Movie," "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron," "Big Fat Liar" and "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial." Seating is limited to auditorium capacity.
Summer Stock '03is in 23rd season
CHAMPION -- Summer Stock '03 opens its 23rd season with "Masks," written and directed by Paul Kimpel.
Shows will be presented at 7 p.m. June 20 and 27 and 10:30 a.m. June 23-27 at Lecture Hall A of Kent State University Trumbull Campus, 4314 Mahoning Ave. N.W. This show is geared to children ages 4 to 10.
A half-hour magic show by Gary Morton will precede the play.

Visit Summerfestat Ashtabula Lighthouse
ASHTABULA -- The Ashtabula Lighthouse Restoration and Preservation Society will sponsor a Summerfest from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. June 21 and from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. June 22 at Lakeshore Park. A regatta will be at 7 a.m. June 22 along with a pancake breakfast from 9 to 11 that day. Music and family entertainment will be featured.

Gershwin to be subject
YOUNGSTOWN -- The second performance in Damaris Peters Pike's "Women of Note" series will be "Frankie Gershwin: We Let George Do It" on June 23 at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave. The event will begin at 11 a.m. with a light lunch. At noon, Pike will portray Frances "Frankie" Gershwin, younger sister of famous composer George Gershwin, who reminisces about life during the 1920s and '30s and sings some of her brother's most familiar tunes.
