Zannis are feted at reception for golden jubilee

XSTRUTHERS -- Mr. and Mrs. Louis S. Zanni of 63 Morrison St. were the guests of honor May 25 at a reception at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Vienna following a Mass celebrated by their son, the Rev. Frank L. Zanni of Vienna.
The Rev. Zanni hosted the festivities along with the couple's other children and their spouses, Virginia and John Gordon of Poland; Carol and Terry Yoder of Hubbard; David and Deb Zanni of Chillecothe; John Zanni of Rutland, Vt.; and Steven Zanni of Orlando, Fla. Another son, the Rev. James Zanni, is deceased.
Also hosting the event were Mrs. Zanni's sister, Betty Cipro, and two of their nine grandchildren.
Mr. Zanni and the former Irene V. Cipro were married June 6, 1953, at Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Ellwood City, Pa. He served as a military firefighter on the flight line in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and retired in November 1990 from the U.S. Postal Service in Struthers, where he was a mail carrier.
His wife is a homemaker.
The couple are members of St. Nicholas Church, where they belong to the altar and rosary society and are former members of the choir.
