Angels of Easter Seals inducts new officers
YOUNGSTOWN -- Installation of officers for 2003-04 took place May 21 at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park as Lynn Ann Bucci was seated as president of the Angels of Easter Seals.
A member since 1997, Bucci has served the organization as chairman for the annual spring fashion show, social committee, reservations and gift baskets.
She is a native of Youngstown and is a wife and the mother of four children. She graduated from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing and is a registered nurse. She is pursuing a bachelor's degree at Malone College in Canton.
She holds the position of board president and educator of the Parenting Center in Akron, a nonprofit center that provides parents with tools to support their families financially, emotionally and educationally. She also does volunteer work for St. Hilary Parish and School in Fairlawn.
Taking leadership positions along with her were Susan Rupert, first vice president; Joan Thompson, second vice president; Frances Gale, corresponding secretary; Jill Chesney, recording secretary; and Betty Cmil, treasurer.
Five new members also were welcomed, and the organization presented a record-breaking check for $160,000 to the Easter Seal Center.
The group has raised $1,853,000 for Easter Seals since its inception.
