Book discussion group to meet in July
HOWLAND -- The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library book discussion group will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. July 22 in the Friends Meeting Room at the Howland Branch, 9095 E. Market St.
Reference librarian Helen Gilpin will lead a discussion of "In Cold Blood," a true-crime novel by Truman Capote. The book explores the 1959 shotgun murders of the Clutter family of Kansas.
The discussion is open to all who have read the book. No reservations are required. Those interested can check out a copy of the book at the library, buy one of a limited number of books at $5 from the Howland Branch staff, or buy the book at a bookstore.

Bookstores to hold late-night Potter party
BOARDMAN -- On June 20, Barnes & amp; Noble at the Shops at Boardman Park and B. Dalton in the Southern Park Mall will stay open past midnight to sell copies of "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," the fifth book in J.K. Rowling's popular series. The stores will hold a "Midnight Magic" party, featuring Harry Potter-related contests, games and giveaways. "Order of the Phoenix" will be available for sale at midnight. Readers of all ages are invited to the event.
Barnes & amp; Noble kicked off a Harry Potter sweepstakes in the beginning of June. Customers can pick up a decoder card at the store and log on to Barnes & amp; Noble's sweepstakes Web site, www.harrypottersweeps.com, to win hundreds of prizes.
The grand prize is an all-expense-paid trip for four to England. No purchase is necessary. The winner will be announced Aug. 1.
