Bucci's hearing delayed
YOUNGSTOWN -- Robert T. Bucci, 57, won't be back in Ohio as soon as U.S. District Court officials in Cleveland were expecting.
An extradition hearing was postponed until June 27 for the former Canfield resident, who fled to Cuba 4 1/2 years ago to avoid prosecution on charges of conspiracy to defraud the IRS, false tax returns and tax evasion, according to federal law enforcement officials.
Bucci is being held in a Miami jail after his arrest in Panama City, Fla., on May 18.
Bond jumping is expected to be added to his list of charges.
Bucci's brother, Anthony, was a witness for the prosecution during James A. Traficant's racketeering trial. Robert Bucci also had a chance to strike a deal with prosecutors for a lighter sentence in exchange for testifying against Traficant, but he opted instead to flee.
