MRDD Garage sale will benefit the retarded



AUSTINTOWN -- The annual garage sale of the Mahoning County Council for Retarded Citizens will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Leonard Kirtz School, 4791 Woodridge Drive.
All proceeds benefit programs to assist retarded children and adults of the Mahoning Valley area and their families.
Donated items for the sale can be dropped off at the school from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
Items that will be accepted for the sale include various household and small appliances, housewares, tools, books, audio and video materials (videotapes, audiotapes, DVDs), toys and games.
No large furniture or large appliances, or clothes or shoes of any kind, will be accepted. All donated items are tax deductible, and receipts will be provided.
The Mahoning County Council for Retarded Citizens is a nonprofit, tax-exempt agency founded in 1955 for the purpose of assisting and furthering the goals of citizens with mental retardation and developmental disabilities who live in Mahoning County.
The term retarded citizens includes all people with mental retardation.
