Federation holds recognition luncheon



LIBERTY TOWNSHIP -- The Youngstown Area Federation of Women's Clubs held its annual recognition luncheon May 21 at the Youngstown Country Club.
Kathleen Rickert presented a $2,000 scholarship to Amanda Strasik, a senior at Boardman High School, and Dorothy Bailey presented a $600 nontraditional scholarship to Candi Dornan, a junior at Youngstown State University.
A plaque and community service award were presented by Mary B. Smith and Ann Hill to Geri Kosar, Phyllis Ricchiuti and Rose Rubino, directors of the Paula and Anthony Rich Center for the Study and Treatment of Autism at YSU. Rickert received a plaque honoring her as the club's Woman of the Year.
Josephine Nolfi, librarian of the Youngstown Library System, presented children's music books to Dorothy Schwers, immediate past president. The books will be placed at the Austintown Public Library in her honor.
Mrs. Smith gave the meditation, and table decorations were provided by Fortnightly IV Club.
Dorothy Molinaro served as chairwoman for the event. Elva Easton is YAFWC president.
