REGIONAL TRACK & amp; FIELD Liberty, West Branch earn championships
Girard sophomore Cachet Murray set Division II meet records in three events.

RAVENNA -- Liberty and West Branch tied Garfield Heights Trinity for the girls team title at Friday's Division II regional track and field meet at Ravenna High School.
Leopards senior Jessica White placed third in the 100-meter dash and second in the 200 and led Liberty to victories in the 4x100 and 4x200 relays. Liberty won the state title in the 4x200 last season.
Liberty senior Brittny Humphrey ran in both relays and also won the 300 hurdles.
Girard sophomore Cachet Murray set meet records in the 100, 200 and long jump and anchored the second place 4x100 relay. Murray won state titles in the 100 and 200 last season.
West Branch senior Lisa Davies won the 3200 and placed third in the 1600, while teammate Jen Hively placed second in the 100 hurdles and anchored the fourth-place 4x200 relay. The Warriors won the 4x400 relay.
Ursuline senior Amber Miller won the 100 hurdles and placed second in the 300 hurdles. Her teammate, sophomore Cierra Bennett, won the 400. Miller and Bennett also helped the Irish place fourth in the 4x400 relay. Sophomore Brittany Averhart placed fourth in the discus.
Lakeview senior Heather Lewis won the discus and Katie Betts placed fourth in the 200 for the Bulldogs.
Champion senior Marlena Wolfe placed second in the 1600 and Maren Kemp placed third in the long jump for the Golden Flashes.
Boys
Brookfield's Lou Scudere placed first in the 200 and second in the 100, edging Girard's Jeriel Harrison in both events.
Harrison placed second in the 200 and fourth in the 100. His teammate, Kevin Hetrick, placed third in the 400.
Lakeview's George Washko took second in the shot put and the Bulldogs' 4x100 relay of Nate Province, Justin Rush, Josh Province and Jarred Grzywna placed fourth.
Rayen's 4x100 relay of Andre Miller, Dorian Townsend, Demond Taylor and Leon Brock placed third.
Ursuline's Derrick Stewart placed second in the 300 hurdles. Campbell's Darrin Johnson placed third in the 100.
Salem's Marcus Jones took second in the 400 and his teammate, Shane Harding, placed third in the 3200.
For Newton Falls, Matt Gillespie placed fourth in the 200 and Tim Frey took fourth in the shot put for the Tigers.
