ODOT plans meeting on Route 534 work



SOUTHINGTON -- Ohio Department of Transportation will conduct an open house public meeting from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the township hall, state Route 534, on the proposed realignment of state Route 534 at Warren-State Road.
The route connects Southington and Farmington townships. The meeting is to present and discuss the proposed improvements and to solicit public comments.
The $1.3 million project includes eliminating a stop sign from Route 534 removing some of the sharper curves. The stop sign will be relocated onto Warren-State Road. Two bridges that span two tributaries also will be replaced. The project will take about a construction season to complete and is scheduled to go out for bid in January 2005 with construction set to begin in spring 2005.

Comments must be submitted by June 30.
