Darlington Days to run through weekend



DARLINGTON, Pa. -- Activities at the annual Darlington Days in Darlington continue through Sunday.
Sponsored by the Little Beaver Lions Club, the event kicked off Friday night with a polo match and tailgating party at the Darlington Polo Field.
Today's activities include community yard sales and Civil War re-enactments throughout the borough, antique machinery display at Little Beaver Creek near the polo field, and an arts and crafts show at the polo field.
Other events on tap today:
UFireman's parade featuring the Blackhawk High School Band.
UGarden tractor pulls from noon to 5 p.m. at the polo field.
ULog-rolling competition at Little Beaver Creek at 3 p.m.
UA bonfire at 6 p.m. behind the volunteer fire department.
UA concert at 8 p.m. at the fire department by the band Foxx.
UA fireworks show, weather permitting, at 10 p.m. by Zambelli Fireworks Internationale.
Sunday's events will include an antique machinery display and an antique car cruise.
Tours of the Darlington Museum and Greersburg Academy will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free, and activity costs vary. Food vendors will be on hand.
