Rock and Soul Day
CLEVELAND -- Celebrate black music at the fifth annual Rock and Soul Day from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. June 29 at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Admission will be free, and music will be played by local and national recording acts, including Ready For the World ("Oh, Sheila," "Love You Down").
The event will double as a send-off for the Freedom Schooner Amistad, a wooden recreation of a 19th-century Spanish cargo ship that was used in the trans-Atlantic slave trade. The history of the Amistad inspired a Hollywood movie several years ago. The Freedom Schooner will dock June 14 in Cleveland.
