MERCER, PA. Victorian event will feature 5-home tour
MERCER, Pa. -- The Mercer Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Victorian Weekend Historic Town & amp; Country House Tour on July 20.
The tour, featuring five area homes, will showcase a former stagecoach depot and hotel, an 1843 farmhouse, a log cabin and other homes of architectural or historical interest.
The tour is part of Mercer's annual Victorian Days running July 18-20.
The tour is set for 1 to 5 p.m. July 20 and tickets are $7 for anyone over age 12. Younger children may tour for free. Tickets will be available at the Victorian Days information booth July 19 and 20.
Houses on the tour are:
UChristy House, 341 N. Pitt St. This frame house is more than 130 years old and has 10 rooms on seven levels.
UMunnell House, 428 N. Pitt St. This Victorian cottage was built in the 1880s.
UNational House, 1174 Greenfield Road. This landmark Colonial structure is at the crossroads of the village of Charleston and was a hotel and stagecoach depot in the early 1800s. It is now a bed and breakfast.
UPlant's Herb Farm Bed & amp; Breakfast, 104 S. Foster Road. This rustic log cabin has a cathedral ceiling and loft area and the interior is done in natural wood.
UPrasse Estate, 75 N. Spring Road. This stucco farmhouse was built in 1843 and expanded in 1920.
