WARREN -- The Trumbull Memorial Hospital Foundation will hold its LPGA Golf Clinic for senior and physically challenged golfers beginning at 9 a.m. June 9 at the Squaw Creek Country Club driving range.
LPGA pros will be on-hand to demonstrate adaptive techniques, answer questions and give tips on how to improve your golf game.
Seminar for nurses
YOUNGSTOWN -- A seminar for nurses, with speaker Cynthia Soller, R.N., B.S.N., will be held at the Lloyd Dermatology & amp; Education Center, 8060 Market St., on June 19. Faster bacteria ID
SHARON, Pa. -- Sharon-based biotechnology company Infectech has developed a method of identifying mycobacteria that a German scientist says produces results 14.3 percent to 42.9 percent faster than traditional methods.
Mitchell Felder, CEO and president of the company, said the results were better than he expected. Infectech makes testing kits that enable rapid identification of disease-causing bacteria, such as tuberculosis, and many which are the prominent causes of death in cancer, cystic fibrosis and AIDS patients.
Camp Slim Down
YOUNGSTOWN -- St. Elizabeth Health Center will offer Camp Slim Down June 17 from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. The camp will teach school-age children good nutrition and better eating habits, as well as offer exercise tips and counseling on issues dealing with weight.
