Arts group plans 'topless' fund-raiser
WARREN -- The Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County is sponsoring a "topless" fund-raiser today downtown.
The first-time event will be at 7:30 p.m. on the top level of the Franklin Street parking deck which has no roof, hence the topless name.
The deck offers a view of the city and the Top Notes, which plays big band music under the direction of Dr. John Vlad, will provide entertainment.
Hors d'oeuvres will be prepared and served by the Hippodrome restaurant.
Cost is $20 and a limited number of admissions will be available at the door.
Call the Fine Arts Council at (330) 399-1212 to make a reservation.
There will be a silent auction for hats ranging from summer bonnets to an Ohio State University National Football Champions cap autographed by Coach Jim Tressel to a firefighter's helmet.
All funds generated will be used to support FACT's operating expenses.
FACT is a nonprofit organization established in 1971 to improve the quality of life in the county by fostering the arts.
