YOUNGSTOWN Contracts and spending

The city's board of control approved these contracts and other spending items Thursday:
A $14,750 contract with Bowman Appraisal Services to do appraisals of property on Front Street for possible acquisition by the city for the proposed downtown civic center project.
Severance of $11,672 for Thomas Snyder, a pump operator in the water department who retired May 6.
A $1,356 technical assistance grant for Edward Harden of E.H. Concrete Co.
A letter of credit and bid bond for $6,500 to $7,000 for Jeanette Pizzuto of Northeastern Excavating & amp; Environmental Contractors.
An $825 technical assistance grant for Kevin Myers of Myers Improvement.
