SAFETY DAY Goddard State Park

Goddard State Park at Sandy Lake, Pa., will have a public safety day program from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the park's marina and bicycle trail. More than 20 organizations from around Mercer County will participate.
Daylong: Interactive safety booths, child identification and fingerprinting, child car-seat checks, games and refreshments. Bicycle enthusiasts should bring their bikes and helmets. UPMC Horizon is a co-sponsor and will provide emergency medical care on site.
10 a.m.: Appalachian Trail Experience.
11 a.m.: Water and boat rescue demonstrations by local fire departments and the Canine Aided Emergency Search and Rescue.
Noon: Fitness activity with John Kolb, former Pittsburgh Steeler.
1 p.m.: Weather awareness.
2 p.m.: Bicycle safety.
2:30 p.m.: STAT MedEvac helicopter landing.
