UMolly Toth, right, an eighth-grader at Struthers Middle School, tries to figure out what was caught in a net at Yellow Creek Park. Molly was one of the pupils from Theresa Laczko's homeroom who walked to the park Thursday to take samples of the chemical and biological contents of the stream, which flows into the Mahoning River. About 600 Struthers pupils in grades five through eight have spent two weeks learning how to protect and improve the Mahoning River watershed. Each grade level focused on a particular environmental theme, all associated with the Mahoning.
