FUND-RAISER MS chapter sets Aug. 26 luncheon



An award presentation will be featured at the event.
VIENNA -- A speaker and presentation will highlight the second annual Women Against MS Luncheon at noon Aug. 26 at Squaw Creek Country Club planned by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's Ohio Buckeye Chapter.
Jeannine Hughes, a nationally known MS speaker, will give the keynote address.
The Woman of Courage Award will be given posthumously to Estelle Costello, a longtime National MS Society supporter.
Bobbi Horvath, co-host of Mix 98.9's Mark and Bobbi Morning Show, is serving as chairwoman of the event and master of ceremonies.
Event details
Individual tickets are available for $50. Mission supporter scholarships (corporate and group tables) for eight are available for $750.
Event proceeds will be used to fund local "quality of life" programs that benefit some 1,000 Mahoning Valley residents who have multiple sclerosis. MS is diagnosed in one out of every 1,000 Ohioans, and two-thirds are women.
Presenting sponsors are Commercial Metal Forming and the DeBartolo Corp. Mission supporter sponsors are Teamsters Brotherhood of the Horseman Chapter 1, the Colello Family and Greenbriar Hospital for Special Services. Another sponsor is Serono, a pharmaceutical company that makes Rebif, a drug used to treat MS.
The national society funds research, offers services for people with MS and provides education programs.
