BOSTON -- Jason Varitek hit a tying three-run homer and Johnny Damon followed with a go-ahead shot as the Boston Red Sox scored six times in the seventh inning to beat the New York Yankees. Jeff Weaver took a 3-0 lead and a two-hitter into the seventh before he walked Trot Nixon and hit Bill Mueller with one out. Chris Hammond (2-1), who had allowed one homer all season, relieved and Varitek homered over the Green Monster as a disgusted Weaver threw a towel in the Yankees dugout.
Blue Jays 10, Orioles 1
TORONTO -- Roy Halladay (15-2) pitched seven scoreless innings and became the first major league pitcher to win 15 straight decisions since Roger Clemens won 16 in a row in 2001. Aquilino Lopez finished the three-hitter, allowing a homer to Larry Bigbie. Carlos Delgado hit his AL-leading 30th home run. Rodrigo Lopez (3-6) tied a season high by allowing eight runs and eight hits in 32/3 innings.
Royals 5, Tigers 1
DETROIT -- Jose Lima (7-0) won his seventh straight start, allowing four hits in five shutout innings. He has the longest winning streak by a Kansas City pitcher since David Cone won eight straight in 1994. Sean Lowe, Jason Grimsley and Mike MacDougal finished the five-hitter. Angel Berroa and Desi Relaford homered for the Royals. Mike Maroth (5-15) allowed five runs and seven hits in seven innings.
White Sox 9, Devil Rays 1
CHICAGO -- Bartolo Colon (8-9) pitched eight innings to combine with Kelly Wunsch on a four-hitter, and Frank Thomas homered and drove in three runs as Chicago won for the ninth time in 10 games. The White Sox, trailing the Royals by four games in the AL Central, start a three-game series Tuesday in Kansas City. Colon (8-9) gave up Rocco Baldelli's first-inning homer, then retired 18 consecutive batters until Aubrey Huff doubled in the seventh.
Athletics 10, Angels 1
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Tim Hudson (9-4) pitched a four-hitter for his second complete game this season, and Scott Hatteberg went 3-for-4 with a pair of solo homers as Oakland closed within three games of AL West-leading Seattle. Miguel Tejada hit a two-run shot and Ramon Hernandez also homered for the A's, who have won four straight and six of seven after taking a four-game losing streak into the All-Star break.
Rangers 7, Mariners 3
SEATTLE -- Michael Young had four hits and John Thomson (8-10) allowed three runs, eight hits and five walks in eight innings. Rafael Palmeiro and Hank Blalock each drove in two runs for the Rangers. Alex Rodriguez, who turned 28, went 2-for-4 with a triple. Freddy Garcia (9-10) lost his fourth straight decision, allowing six runs -- five earned -- and 10 hits in 52/3 innings.

Cubs 5, Astros 3
HOUSTON (AP) -- Sammy Sosa hit his 521st career home run, tying Ted Williams and Willie McCovey for 12th place on the career list, as the Chicago Cubs beat the Houston Astros. Sosa, who had been 0-for-7 in the series, homered to left in the first inning, his 22nd of the season and 12th in July. He trails Jimmie Foxx by 13 homers for 11th on the career list. Eric Karros and Mark Grudzielanek also had solo homers, and Kenny Lofton went 3-for-5 with a single, double and triple.
Expos 13, Braves 10
MONTREAL -- Orlando Cabrera homered and went 3-for-5 with a career-high six RBIs as Montreal came back from four runs down to beat Atlanta. Endy Chavez, Ron Calloway and Wil Cordero also homered for Montreal, which trailed 5-1 in the third inning and 8-4 in the sixth against Greg Maddux. The Expos got a pair of runs in the sixth, then scored five in the seventh to go ahead for good. Atlanta's Marcus Giles doubled in his first four at-bats.
Dodgers 1, Diamondbacks 0
PHOENIX -- Hideo Nomo outpitched Curt Schilling and rookie Larry Barnes hit an RBI double as Los Angeles defeated Arizona. A day after losing 1-0 to Arizona, the Dodgers scored one run or fewer for the 26th time this season, but it was enough to win. Nomo (12-8) allowed four singles -- three by Craig Counsell -- and walked five in 72/3 innings. Eric Gagne completed the four-hitter for his 35th save.
Giants 6, Padres 2
SAN FRANCISCO -- Andres Galarraga drove in four runs to back Jesse Foppert as San Francisco beat San Diego for its 10th win in 11 games. Pedro Feliz also homered for the Giants, who finished 10-1 on their winningest homestand in 14 years. Foppert (7-8) won for the third time in four starts, allowing two runs -- one earned -- and six hits in 62/3 innings. Jake Peavy (8-8) gave up six runs and eight hits in six innings.
Marlins 7, Phillies 6
MIAMI -- Juan Pierre hit a two-out RBI single in the ninth inning, and Florida beat Philadelphia for the eighth time in a row. With a three-game series sweep, Florida is just two games behind NL wild-card leader Philadelphia and seven games above .500 for the first time since 1997. Ugueth Urbina (2-0) struck out four in two scoreless innings. The Florida bullpen shut out Philadelphia over the final five innings.
Reds 8, Mets 5
NEW YORK -- Paul Wilson defeated his former team for the first time, and Jose Guillen hit a tiebreaking homer to lead Cincinnati over New York. Wilson (6-8) allowed five runs in seven innings. The Mets made him the No. 1 overall pick in the 1994 draft, then traded him to Tampa Bay in July 2000. Scott Williamson earned his 21st save in 26 chances. Guillen had three RBIs, Aaron Boone had three hits for the Reds and Adam Dunn hit his 26th homer.
Rockies 6, Brewers 1
DENVER -- Jason Jennings pitched six strong innings and hit a two-run single as Colorado beat Milwaukee to complete its third straight home sweep of the Brewers. Jennings (10-8) allowed one run, five hits and four walks, giving Colorado its ninth consecutive victory over Milwaukee at Coors Field. Wayne Franklin (7-7) allowed four runs, four hits and six walks in six innings.
