A 13-year-old girl was injured in one of the crashes.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Police arrested two men and a woman accused of injuring people in three unrelated traffic crashes during the last two days.
Among those arrested was Jody Dougherty, 39, of Atkinson Avenue, who was charged with driving under the influence. Reports state that Dougherty was driving a car that struck a 13-year-old girl about 10 p.m. Friday on McGuffey Road at the Gray Avenue intersection.
The girl was in critical condition at St. Elizabeth Health Center on Saturday night. The crash report and other information about the 13-year-old girl, including her name, was not available Saturday night.
Dougherty told police she had a small amount to drink before the crash. Reports state she failed a field sobriety test and refused a Breathalyzer test.
Dougherty's 14-year-old son was a passenger in the car when the crash occurred.
Multiple charges
On Saturday, police arrested Mark Wesolowsky, 24, of Amberly Drive, Austintown, and Kenneth Pankey, 32, of South Raccoon Road, Austintown, and charged each of them with driving under the influence, hit-skip and failure to maintain an assured clear distance.
Wesolowsky was arrested at his home at 2:30 a.m. after Austintown police spotted a pick-up truck that matched a description from a crash on Oak Street in Youngstown. Police said a truck hit another vehicle and then was driven away. Two people in the other vehicle were injured, police said. The original crash report was not available Saturday.
Pankey was arrested at about 1:30 a.m. after police said they watched his car strike a car driven by James Rodger on Market Street near Indianola Avenue.
Reports do not give an age or address for Rodger, and information about his condition was not available Saturday night.
Rodger's car was pushed into a third car. Reports state that Rodger got out of his car and stood in front of Pankey's car to try and prevent him from fleeing.
Pankey then drove into Rodger, flipping him, reports state. Police chased Pankey to West Princeton Avenue, where he stopped and was arrested.
