OHV trails close
Off-highway vehicle trails on the Allegheny National Forest -- including all trails designed for use by all-terrain vehicles and motorbikes -- are closed until further notice.
Recent heavy rains and strong winds created hazardous conditions with trees knocked down, according to ANF officials.

Traditional opening day for trout fishing season
With a nod to tradition, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will maintain a single, statewide opening day in mid-April for the trout fishing season.
Following-up on angler input received at the PFBC's 2002 Trout Summit, the Commission this spring solicited public comments on the potential for opening the trout season in some southern counties two weeks earlier than the remainder of the state. With angler reaction mixed, however, the Commissioners voted to maintain a single, statewide opening day, established by regulation as the first Saturday after April 11.
