AUSTINTOWN COMMUNITY TRACK TEAM SWEEPS TWO EVENTS
Three team members of the Austintown Community Track Club competed at the 2003 USATF Lake Erie Track and Field Outdoor Championships in Cleveland Heights, OH, Saturday July 26th and swept the Women's Master Division (14-29 years-old) Shot Put and Discus Throw events.
Michelle Rossio earned a gold medal in the shot put with a throw of 36-4. Christen Clemson captured second place, lofting the 4K shot 36-1 _. Alexandra Rathburn then followed with a toss of 31-1 _ for the bronze.
Later in the day, Clemson placed first in the discus throw with a gold medal toss of 156-1, while Rossio took silver throwing 130-0 and Rathburn followed with throw of 92-6 for another bronze medal.
Clemson will begin her second year this fall on the Penn State University Track Team. Rossio heads to the Michigan State University Spartan Track Team this fall. Rathburn enters this year as a freshman at Western Reserve High School.
