GROVE CITY, PA. 1979 Grove City College grad becomes trustees chairman
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- A 1979 graduate of Grove City College has been elected chairman of its board of trustees.
David Rathburn, 46, of Keswick, Va., took over the duties July 1, succeeding J. Paul Stricht, Class of 1939 and retired chairman and chief executive officer of RJR/Nabisco.
Rathburn has been on the trustee board since 1992. He runs his own consulting service to the shipbuilding and insurance industries, Gatewick Enterprises Inc.
He previously was president of the Marine Interior Division of Hopeman Bros. for 12 years.
Rathburn was a triple major at Grove City, earning degrees in accounting, business administration and political science.
While a student, he was a member of Nu Lambda Phi fraternity, president of the Men's Governing Board and the American Management Association, vice president of the Student Government Association and sports director of college radio station WSAJ.
He and his wife, Jayne, have two sons.
