NILES -- The Single Adult Ministry Network is sponsoring a cookout and concert next Saturday at Pleasant Valley Church. The event begins at 3 p.m., and Jan Markowitz from WCRF-103 FM will minister in music at 4:30 p.m. Call (330) 783-6297.
Church Hot Rod Classic
YOUNGSTOWN -- Christ Church Presbyterian will have its Hot Rod Classic with "Elvis" from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday to benefit its missionary fund. There will be music and a variety of food.
Benefit car show
NEW SPRINGFIELD -- "Cruisin' in the Country," a classic car show will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. next Saturday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. There will be an auction and a disc jockey. Proceeds will benefit the Springfield Township Council of Churches and Community. The rain date is Aug. 9.

BOARDMAN -- Calvary Baptist Church's Ice Cream Social, Carillon Concert and Children's Carnival is from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. The social begins at 6 p.m., and the concert begins at 6:30 p.m. Supervised activities for children include face painting, ring toss and miniature golf.
Revival services set
AUSTINTOWN -- Evangelist Timothy Lanning will take part in revival services at 7 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday at Community Fellowship Church of God.
Author to speak
CANFIELD -- The Catholic Diocese of Youngstown's Charismatic Day of Renewal will be Sept. 27 at the Ursuline Center. The keynote speaker is Theresa Boucher, who has been active in both charismatic renewal and adult formation for more than 25 years. Her newest book is "Making Friends With the Saints." Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and a concluding Mass is at 4 p.m. The cost is $20 per person. Call (330) 788-5537.

BOARDMAN -- The Western Reserve Baptist Church will have a summer concert featuring the Canfield Community Band at 7 p.m. Aug. 5. An offering will be taken.
Family and friends event
STRUTHERS -- Fellowship Church of God in Christ will have its annual family and friends day at 11 a.m. Aug. 3. The guest speaker is Evangelist Bonnie L. Reid of Church in the Round in Aliquippa, Pa. A dinner will follow the service. Call (330) 750-0002.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Paul Melvin, a certified speaker for the United Methodist Church, will speak on "A Layman Looks At The Sermon On The Mount" at 10 a.m. Sunday at Trinity United Methodist Church. A fellowship program will follow.
New official named
CANFIELD -- Sister Nancy Dawson is the new executive director of the Ursuline Center. The Ursuline Center provides services and meeting space for religious, cultural, education, wellness and community programs. It also serves as home to a variety of ministries sponsored by the Ursulines from preschool to water aerobics.
Serbian Day picnic
YOUNGSTOWN -- Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., will have its Annual Serbian Day picnic Sunday. Chicken paprikas and cevapcici dinners and barbecued lamb will be served from noon to 2 p.m. A Serbian orchestra will provide the music.
Mental health workshop
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Mahoning County Mental Health Board, Help Hotline Crisis Center Inc., and the Mahoning County Suicide Prevention Coalition will conduct a free workshop for all members of the clergy in Mahoning County.
