Eagle award
Nicholas Robert Ulicney, the son of Jon and Sandy Ulicney of Canfield, recently received his Eagle Scout award, Boy Scouting's highest honor.
Since he began Scouting in 2000, he has earned 21 merit badges, as well as the World Conservation Award, and is also a member of the Order of the Arrow. He is a member of Troop 115, which operates out of St. Michael Church, Canfield.
For his Eagle Scout project, he designed, created and installed display cases needed for Canfield High School.
After graduating with honors from Canfield High School, he is scheduled to attend Clarkson University, Potsdam, N.Y., and major in aeronautical engineering.
DOCTORS
2 from Trumbull
Two Trumbull County men have received their doctor of medicine degree from the Medical College of Ohio, Toledo. They are Daniel P. Smith of Girard and Matthew I. Rudloff of Cortland.
Dr. Smith, a 1999 summa cum laude graduate of Youngstown State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree, will begin a preliminary year of general study at the University of Kentucky Medical Center followed by an orthopedic surgery residency. He is a 1995 graduate of Liberty High School.
While at MCO, he was active in many student organizations.
Dr. Rudloff will begin residency training in orthopedic surgery at the University of Tennessee. He is a 1995 graduate of Lakeview High School, Cortland, and a 1999 cum laude graduate of Denison University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in biology.
While a student at MCO, he was inducted as a member into the MCO chapter of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical society and was the recipient of two scholarships.
Leetonia graduate
Melissa Ann Snyder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Snyder of Leetonia, has earned a doctor of medicine degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Snyder, the 1996 Leetonia High School valedictorian, graduated summa cum laude from CWRU in 1999 and entered medical school as a pre-professional scholar in medicine.
She was the recipient of the Edwin C. Garvin senior prize in obstetrics as well as a graduate of the medical school's primary-care track program.
Dr. Snyder will begin her four-year residency training program at University Hospitals of Cleveland in obstetrics and gynecology and plans to pursue a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility.
Residency completed
Paul Michael Entler, D.O., son of Elizabeth Entler of Niles and the late Edward C. Entler, has recently completed a residency in internal medicine at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He has received various awards including outstanding third-year resident, outstanding second-year resident, and the excellence in teaching award from the Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia.
He has been appointed chief medical resident for 2003-04. Dr. Entler is a junior faculty member at West Penn Hospital, which is a clinical campus for the Temple University School of Medicine. He has accepted a fellowship in the Primary Care Faculty Development Program at Michigan State University.
He was a 1990 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in biology from Youngstown State University. He received his medical degree from Ohio University.
He was recently married to Dr. Dana Fletcher Entler.
