New chief executive takes over at United Community Hospital



GROVE CITY, Pa. -- United Community Hospital in Pine Township has a new chief executive officer.
Anthony Zalenka, former vice president of clinical support and plant operations at The Washington Hospital in Washington, Pa., has been named to succeed John Lewis, who resigned to accept a position elsewhere.
While at Washington, Zalenka was also responsible for the transitional care unit there.
He has a Pennsylvania Nursing Home Administrator license and will also administer United Community's Transitional Care Center.
He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Marietta (Ohio) College and a master's of health administration from Ohio State University.
He is certified by Ohio State's Executive Program in Health Care Financial Management and is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
