GROVE CITY, PA. Fireworks rescheduled for street fair in August



The campus of Grove City College will be the main focal point for entertainment.
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Heavy rainfall and high winds washed out Grove City's annual July Fourth fireworks display, but people will get a chance to see it as part of this year's Grove City Street Fair.
The fireworks have been rescheduled for 10 p.m. Aug. 8 on the Grove City College women's softball field on East Pine Street. Parking areas will be available at the college, and the lower campus area off Broad Street will be open for lawn chairs or blankets.
Should it get rained out again, Aug. 9 has been picked as the rain date.
This year's 46th annual fair, sponsored by the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce, will kick off with an ice cream social on the Tower Presbyterian Church lawn on South Broad Street from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 5.
It ends with a performance by the heavy metal band Crimson Dawn at 8 p.m. Aug. 9 on the main stage on the lower campus.
Daily highlights
In between, there will be daily entertainment at various locations downtown, amusement rides and food booths. Borough merchants will offer shopping specials every day.

UAug. 5 -- 7 p.m.: Community Parade.
UAug. 6 -- Midway rides open at 6 p.m.
UAug. 7 -- Jimmy and the Jemstones on the main stage at 7 p.m.
UAug. 8 -- Vision Quest street performance at 4 p.m.; Dottie McGill Dancers on the main stage at 5:30 p.m.; Community Scavenger Hunt at 7 p.m.
UAug. 9 -- Kids karate on the main stage at 10 a.m.; musical entertainment on the main stage all day beginning at 11 a.m.; vesper service on the law of Grace United Methodist Church on South Broad Street at 6 p.m.
