SIDELIGHTS For all seniors



SCOPE Niles Senior Center, 14 E. State St., has the following schedule planned for the week: Monday, computer class at 9:30 a.m., tin man class at 10, quilters group and cards at 1 p.m. and cards from 6 to 10 p.m.; Tuesday, square dancing at 9:30 a.m., lunch available for $3 at 11:30 and computer class, bridge and 500 tournament at 1 p.m.; Wednesday, pokeno at 9:30 a.m., tai chi class at 10 with $4 fee, lunch available for $3 at 11:30, bingo at 1 p.m. and cards at 2:30; Thursday, line dancing at 9:30 a.m., lunch available for $3 at 11:30 and pinochle and bridge at 1 p.m.; and Friday, learn to play the harmonica at 10 a.m. and mixed chorus at 1 p.m. Pool table, piano, television and library are available when not in conflict with scheduled activities. Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following activities: Monday, bridge at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, oil painting at 10 a.m., computer class at 11:30 and blood-pressure screening at noon; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10 a.m., outing to Timberlanes at 10:30, blood pressure screening at 12:30 p.m. and card club at 1; Thursday, woodcarvers and TOPS at 9 a.m., blood pressure screenings at 10:30 and 1:30 p.m. and line dancing at 1 p.m.; and Friday, crafts at 12:30. The center has applications for the SBC telephone discount program. A trip to Pittsburgh for a cruise, show and lunch on the Gateway Clipper will be July 30. The cost is $49.
