Scrappers drop eighth straight to Jammers 8-7



JAMESTOWN, N.Y. -- For the third straight game, the Jamestown Jammers rallied for a win against the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.
Sunday, the Scrappers led 3-2 before the Jammers rallied for an 8-7 victory and a three-game series sweep. It was the Scrappers' eighth-straight defeat.
After the Scrappers jumped out to a 1-0 lead, Ryan Blake's fourth-inning homer put the Jammers ahead, 2-1.
The Scrappers responded with two runs in the fifth inning for 3-2 advantage, but the Jammers answered with three more runs in their fifth-inning at-bat.
Jamestown (8-25) hung on for the win.
In the ninth inning, the Scrappers scored twice to cut the Jammers' lead to 8-7 and had the tying run at third base when Cody Cillo retired Kevin Kouzmanoff to end the game.
The Scrappers (15-18) return home tonight to open a five-game homestand at Cafaro Field. The Auburn Doubledays will be the opponents tonight and Tuesday while the Williamsport Crosscutters will visit Wednesday through Friday.
