Monarchs 62, Silver Stars 60
SAN ANTONIO -- Lady Grooms hit a jumper -- her only basket of the game -- as time expired. The Monarchs trailed late until Kara Lawson tied the game with a jumper to set the stage for Grooms' game-winner. The Silver Stars got rolling late in the game when Goodson's basket touched off a 12-6 surge that gave them the lead on two free throws by Jennifer Azzi. Yolanda Griffith led the Monarchs with 17 points, and Lawson and DeMya Walker added 10 points apiece. Grooms finished with two points. Marie Ferdinand, Goodson and Azzi had 13 points apiece for San Antonio.
Mystics 68, Sting 60
WASHINGTON -- Chamique Holdsclaw scored 24 points and Stacey Dales-Schuman added 18 as Washington beat Charlotte. Washington won its second straight game, while Charlotte's four-game winning streak was snapped. Two of Washington's wins this season have come against Charlotte which entered the game atop the Eastern Conference. Allison Feaster led the Sting with 18 points, while Tammy Sutton-Brown added 11.
Seattle 67, Sun 65
UNCASVILLE, Conn. -- Lauren Jackson scored 20 points, including the game-winning layup with 3.5 seconds remaining as Seattle beat Connecticut. Jackson's 3-pointer with 4:52 remaining tied the game at 54-54 and the Storm hit 8-of-10 free throws down the stretch. T.J. McWilliams-Franklin led Connecticut with 19 points and 12 rebounds. She scored five in an 11-second span in the closing seconds to give Connecticut its final lead at 65-64.
