OHIO AMATEUR Paramore leading with one more round

AURORA (AP) -- Steve Paramore stared down his playing partners in the third round of the Ohio Amateur. Now he has to do it one more time.
"I played with two good players today and we fed off each other," Paramore said. "We had a good time. Now we've got one more round."
Paramore shot a 3-under-par 68 Thursday to take a one-shot lead over defending champion Kevin Kornowa with 18 holes remaining in the biggest amateur tournament in the state.
At even par
Paramore's second 68 sandwiched around a 77 left him at even-par 213.
Kornowa also had a 68 Thursday, tying him with Paramore for the lowest round of the tournament. The Sylvania native, a former University of Toledo golfer, is at 214.
Second-round leader David Allan -- playing in the same group with Paramore and Kornowa -- had a 72 and was three shots off Paramore's pace at 216.
The three will be grouped together again in the final round.
"Everybody's in it," Paramore said of the list of possible challengers.
Despite a double bogey on the 15th hole for the third day in a row, Logan's Jason Gerken shot a 71 and was alone in fourth at 217.
Paramore is a 21-year-old former player at Florida Southern. Earlier this summer, he was hired as women's golf coach at Ashland University. His caddie this week is his bride of less than a month, Kerre.
Paramore was a member of Florida Southern's Division II national champions as a freshman. He knows what it's like to play from in front.
In the spring, he led the medalist race at the Sunshine State Conference tournament by seven shots heading into the final round. Then he shot a 31 on the front side to end the suspense, winning by 11 strokes.
