MVS soccer team wins division, allows no goals in four matches



COLUMBUS -- The Mahoning Valley Select (MVS) U16 Boys' soccer team won their division at the Jarosi-Willis Memorial Cup recently.
The MVS boys beat GFC Arsenal of Columbus 3-0, Celtics United of Zanesville 3-0, and Grand Lake United of Lima 9-0 to advance to the championship match, where they defeated Worthington United 2-0.
MVS outscored its opponents 17-0. The goalie was Andrew Loudon (Salem).
In the championship match Kevin Miller (Cardinal Mooney) kicked a 94-yard goal.
Other team members were Jordan Nannah of Salem, Omar Omar of Warren Harding, Shawn Dunn of Beaver Local, Tyler Thayer of East Liverpool, Lenny Liguore of Poland, David Brodell of Shady Side Academy, Andrew Fontanarosa of Austintown, Chris Penman of Warren Harding, Keith Getzinger of Salem, Malik Mohammad of Howland, Keith Little of Ursuline, Conor Faloon of East Liverpool, Kyle Schimley of JFK, and Anthony Colaluca of Austintown.
Coaching the team were Paul Colaluca and head trainer Neil Fowler, both of Austintown.
