BANKING
WARREN -- First Place Financial Corp. has hired Kenton A. Thompson as regional president and president of wealth management services for its subsidiary First Place Bank. Thompson has 25 years' experience in commercial and wealth management services and came to First Place from Key Trust Companies and Key Bank Life Insurance where he was president and senior managing director of private banking and investing.
WARREN -- Karen Cessna has been appointed vice president and private banking officer at Second National Bank and will be based at its Tippecanoe Financial Services Center. Cessna has a master's degree in business administration from Youngstown State University and joined the bank in May.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Sky Bank has hired Ted Gouza of Neshannock Township, Pa., as vice president and Mahoning Valley private banker. Gouza has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Temple University and more than seven years of experience in the banking and financial field.
HEALTH CARE
NILES -- Dr. Paul Michael Entler, a Niles native, has been appointed chief medical resident at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh where he recently completed a residency in internal medicine. A junior faculty member at West Penn Hospital, which is a clinical campus for the Temple University School of Medicine, he has also accepted a fellowship in the Primary Care Faculty Development Program at Michigan State University.
Dr. Entler graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1990, earned bachelor's and master's degrees in biology from Youngstown State University and his doctor of osteopathy degree from Ohio University.
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Dr. Iris Alicia Brossard, a neurologist, has joined the UPMC Horizon staff and will have offices in Hermitage and Greenville. Dr. Brossard earned a bachelor's degree from Hunter College of CUNY in New York City and a medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, N.Y. She completed an internship in the department of internal medicine at Albany Medical Center, a residency at the University of Colorado department of neurology, and a fellowship in electroencephalography and epilepsy at the University of Massachusetts Worchester Medical Center.

POLAND -- Global Spectrum, a Philadelphia company operating the new 10,000-seat Everett Events Center in Everett, Wash., near Seattle, has hired Adam Gesacion as director of group sales. Before relocating to Washington, Gesacion worked for Palace Sports & amp; Entertainment and the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Fla., as assistant director of group sales.
A Poland native and graduate of Poland Seminary High School, Gesacion has a bachelor's degree in sports management from Mount Union College.

AUSTINTOWN -- James Jarvis of Calcutta has been hired as a manager trainee at the 84 Lumber store in Austintown. A graduate of Beaver Local High School, he lives in East Liverpool.
