Shields jubilee is celebrated at family dinner

XAUSTINTOWN -- The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Don Shields of Austintown was celebrated during a family dinner held June 30 at The Fifth Season.
The couple were honored by their children, Gary and Penny Jo Shields of Austintown and Larry and Debbie Shields of Oklahoma City, Okla., and their two granddaughters.
The former Betty Jo Appel and Mr. Shields were married July 18, 1953, at Central Christian Church, Youngstown. They are members of Christ Church Presbyterian, Youngstown.
Mr. Shields served with the U.S. Air Force and worked for Ohio Bell Telephone Co. and AT & amp;T of Youngstown before retiring in 1985. He later worked for Tele-Solutions Inc. and Datacom Inc. in Youngstown.
Mrs. Shields is employed in the cafeteria of Austintown Fitch High School.
