Eagle Award
Jeffrey Copp, son of Alan and Pam Copp of Howland, received the Eagle Scout Award at a Court of Honor at the Warren Elks Lodge 295.
Jeffrey is a member of Troop 101 with Jim Potjunas as its scoutmaster. He joined the troop in 1997, earning the Arrow of Light with Cub Pack 122. With Troop 101 he has had leadership positions of assistant patrol leader, patrol leader, librarian, assistant senior patrol leader and instructor. He earned a total of 30 merit badges.
His Eagle service project was building 10 mallard duck nesting cylinders and 10 wood duck nesting boxes for the Mahoning County Duck Hunting Conservation Club.
Jeffrey is a student at Howland High School, where he will be a senior in September.
DOCTORS
Ob-gyn residency
Regina M. Adair, formerly of Youngstown, has completed her four-year training as a resident in obstetrics, gynecology and women's health from the New Jersey Medical School in Newark.
During her four years as a resident, she received the National Golden Apple Award and Humanitarian Award in teaching. She was published this year in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and selected as resident of the year.
Dr. Adair is a graduate of Ursuline High School. She graduated from Howard University in Washington, D.C., where she earned a bachelor's degree in biology and began her medical training at Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1995. While at Georgetown, she was elected vice president of the Student National Medical Association. She also served on the medical school admissions committee as a student representative.
Dr. Adair is the daughter of Jacqueline Adair and the late Ronald G. Adair of Youngstown. She will begin private practice Aug. 1 in Leesburg, Va.
New veterinarian
Amy B. Wolfgang of Boardman is a cum laude graduate of Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
As a student, Dr. Wolfgang served as treasurer of Omega Tau Sigma veterinary fraternity and was named its outstanding third-year member. She recently completed an externship at the Window Rock Veterinary Clinic, located in the Navajo nation of northeastern Arizona, and has started a small animal practice at the North Ridge Veterinary Hospital, Madison, Ohio.
In 1999, she received her undergraduate degree in zoology, magna cum laude, from Miami University, Oxford, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She is a 1995 Boardman High School graduate and a daughter of the Rev. William R. and Judith W. Wolfgang.
2 new osteopaths
Two local men recently received their doctor of osteopathic medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Erie, Pa.
They are Peter Anthony DeSocio of Youngstown, a son of Peter J. and Jean DeSocio of Newburgh, Ind., and Christopher Daniel Fox, a son of of Jim and Linda Fox of Poland.
