Ruby anniversary marked by Owens at buffet dinner

XCANFIELD -- Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. Owens Sr. of 6781 Raccoon Road were honored July 13 at a buffet dinner at the Garden Cafe at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center in Fellows Riverside Gardens, Mill Creek Park, Youngstown, on the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary. The couple also renewed their marriage vows prior to the event.
Hosts for the celebration were the couple's children and their spouses, Thomas Jr. and Robin Owens of Charlotte, N.C., and Abbie and Matt Leskovec of Eastlake. Two grandchildren complete their family.
Mr. Owens and the former Gail Gearhart were married June 29, 1963, at Clarion Methodist Church in Clarion, Pa. He served as a gunner in the U.S. Navy during World War II and is retired from visual merchandising and sales with J.C. Penney and Carlisles.
His wife is employed as a bank teller with Farmers National Bank.
The couple belong to Calla Community Church, where Mrs. Owens serves as secretary of the Women's Missionary Society.
