XSTRUTHERS -- St. Nicholas Church was the setting at 4 p.m. June 20 as Jacqueline Marie Veauthier and Robert Jason Scharff were united in marriage by the Rev. Philip Rogers.
A reception was held at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center in Youngstown. After a honeymoon at Mayan Riviera, Mexico, the couple live in Austin, Texas.
Parents of the bride are Nicholas and JoAnn Veauthier, 2500 Manor Ave., Poland. The groom's parents are Davis and Peggy Scharff of Arlington, Texas, and Marsha Parsons of Longview, Texas.
Sequins, pearls and lace enhanced the bride's gown of ivory matte satin. It featured an off-the-shoulder neckline and cathedral train. She wore a pearl necklace belonging to the groom's grandmother, the late Clara Messner.
Silver gowns were worn by the honor attendant, Cynthia Studnicha, and the bridesmaids, Bobbi Rubin, Angela Robb, Carrie Bannon and Elizabeth Shultz. Flower girl was Kathleen Studnicha.
Elliot VanderStek was best man, and groomsmen were Dr. Brian Veauthier, Nicholas Veauthier Jr., Douglas Mawhinney and Chad Robertson. Ring bearer was Matthew Studnicha.
The bride graduated from John Carroll University and the University of Pittsburgh. She is a National Institutes of Health Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Texas.
The groom holds a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh and is pursuing a doctorate at the University of Texas, where he earned a bachelor's degree.
