Family holds dinner party to honor Mr. and Mrs. Kearns on anniversary



XYOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Jim Kearns, 3358 Quentin Drive, were honored by family and friends as they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary during a dinner party held at 6 p.m. July 9 at Rachel's Restaurant in Austintown.
Hosts for the event were their children, James L. Kearns of Youngstown and Kimberly A. Kearns of Bay Village, and the couple's nephew and nieces, Chuck Summers of Dallas, Ginny Infante of Youngstown, and Nancy Schulz of Houston. There are three grandchildren in the family.
The former Nancy McKinney and Mr. Kearns were married July 18, 1953, at the Chapel of Friendly Bells. They are members of Mahoning United Methodist Church.
Mr. Kearns served two years with the U.S. Army and retired in 1994 from U.S. Steel where he was a general supervisor of labor relations.
