XYOUNGSTOWN -- The wedding of Elizabeth Kathryn McBride and David Allen Pickens Jr. took place at 2 p.m. June 21 at St. Edward Church.
The Rev. Frank Lehnerd officiated for the daughter of Michael and Carol McBride, Colonial Drive, and the son of David and Sandy Pickens, Leffingwell Road, Berlin Center. A reception was held at Antone's Banquet Centre in Boardman, then the couple departed for a honeymoon trip to Grand Cayman. They are living on Green Bay Drive in Boardman.
Fashioned of ivory silk organza, the bride's gown was designed with a pleated, fitted bodice and halter neckline. It was accented with pearls, and the A-line skirt fell to a sweep train.
Her sister, Holly Krupitzer, was honor attendant, and bridesmaids were Helena Chambers, Amy Congemi, Alicia Mazzi, Billie Jo Brown and the groom's niece, Alexis Gorgacz. They wore black gowns. The bride's cousins, Alexis and Alyssa Heydle, were flower girls.
Ernest Morse was best man, and groomsmen were Brian Chambers; Ken Pappalardo; Scott Pallo; Robert Krupitzer, the bride's brother-in-law; and Michael McBride Jr., her brother. Ring bearers were the groom's nephews, Michael and Benjamin Gorgacz.
Mrs. Pickens graduated from Youngstown State University with a master's degree in education. She is a special-education teacher for grades three and four with the Struthers City Schools. Her husband is a fourth-year electrician's apprentice with IBEW Local 64 in Mahoning County.
