CAMPUS NOTES In the spotlight



HARVARD UNIVERSITY, Boston
Lisa Puskarcik of Youngstown was one of 80 students selected to participate in "The Gift of Discovery: Learning Exchange, Italy and America," an educational and cultural program sponsored by the National Italian American Foundation. The nonprofit foundation paid for the spring trip to the Calabria region in Italy, where students met university students and teachers, local officials, and radio and television representatives and visited historical sites. Puskarcik is a 2001 graduate of Boardman High School.
OHIO UNIVERSITY, Athens
Aslyne Rodriguez of Poland has received a 2003 PRIDE Scholarship Award from the Dobson Communication Corp. About 400 applicants from around the nation vied for 80 scholarships worth $2,500 each. Awards are given to graduating high school seniors and undergraduate college students who are users of Dobson wireless telecommunications services.
Alyssa Hoffman, a master of business administration student, was recently initiated into the Beta Gamma Sigma scholastic honor society. She works as a graduate assistant to the coordinator of OU's Executive MBA program and will make a monthlong trip to Europe this summer as part of a consulting project with Italy.
Hoffman, a 1998 Brookfield High School graduate, received a public relations degree from OU last year.
