Poland 16, Austintown 10 -- Kevin Koval, Drew Petro and Jason Simons had three hits each driving in eight runs to lead Poland's 19-hit attack. Mark Carlozzi, Ron Martino and Tim Dennison had two hits apiece. Chris Auman and Tommy Cheslik each had two hits for Austintown.
NEO Continental Colt (15-17s)
Girard F.O.P. 5, Champion Flashes 3 -- Mike Jennings led Girard by going 3-for-3. Tom Williams, Mike Grumley and Steve Cornell all had two hits, including doubles. Tom Papadak had a pair of doubles for Champion (17-4). Girard plays in the semifinals Thursday.

SOFTBALL
Roth Brothers -- of Austintown Community Baseball won the 9-10 age group at Meander League OGSO district fast-pitch tournament, defeating Western Reserve Center Stage 16-5. The team advanced to the state tournament in Wellington. Emily Purnell pitched a no-hitter and struck out 20 batters in the championship game. She also had four hits and four RBIs. Marissa Mattozzi had four hits and Megan Carney added three hits and three RBIs. Also on the team are Brittny Miller, Britney Weidenthal, Amanda Callahan, Allie Bendel, Katrina Larson, Brianna Banko, Linsey Goldberg and Frankie Martinelli.
